Unusual French antique stoneware confit pot

Beautiful antique French glazed stoneware.

A farmhouse pottery essential from the South West of France, these confit pots were used to store duck grease and cooked meat with a thick protective layer of fat on top.

This pot is adorned with two round handles which is unusual.   We love the attractive light colour of this piece and the lovely imperfection of the glazing.

Beautiful on its own or as part of a collection.
