Pair of early 20th century botanical pressed flowers – Sweden 1917
Unusual pair of pressed flowers, over 100 years’ old, from an early botanical collection by Victor Johnsson, from Sweden, created during World War 1. Two pressed flowers comprising a Livaria Vulgaris Gulsparre (Yellow Toadflax) collected and pressed by Victor Johnsson on 15 July 1917, and a Viola Cannina Hundviole (Viola), collected and pressed by the same botanist but on 10 July 1917. Good size and very interesting images, both in very good condition with no apparent foxing. The detailed description of the annotations on each page adds to the interest and appeal. Would look wonderful properly framed, and suitable for most rooms in the home.
(3 further pairs of pressed plants specimens are available from the same collection).
