Pair of early 20th century botanical pressed flowers – Sweden 1916/17
Unusual pair of pressed flowers, over 100 years’ old, from an early botanical collection by Victor Johnsson, from Sweden, created during World War 1. Two pressed flowers comprising a Valeriana Dioica (Marsh Valerian) collected and pressed by Victor Johnsson on 5 June 1917, and a Stellaria Graminea (Grass-like Starwort), collected and pressed by the same botanist but on 27 June 1916. Good size and very interesting images, both in very good condition with no apparent foxing. The detailed of the annotations on each page adds to the interest and appeal. Would look wonderful properly framed, and suitable for most rooms in the home.
(3 further pairs of pressed plants specimens are available from the same collection).
