Pair of early 20th century botanical pressed flowers – Sweden 1916
Exquisite pair of pressed flowers, over 100 years’ old, from an early botanical collection by Victor Johnsson, from Sweden, created during World War 1. Two pressed flowers comprising a Viola Tricolor (Wild pansy) collected and pressed by Victor Johnsson on 30 June 1916, and a Veronica Serpyllifolia (Veronica Serpyllifolia), collected and pressed by the same botanist but on 7 June 1916. These are beautiful pieces of artwork, both in very good condition with no apparent foxing. The detailed description of the annotations on each page adds to the interest and appeal. Would look wonderful properly framed, and suitable for most rooms in the home.
