Sourced from a dealer in Castres, this is a medium-sized portrait of a local French doctor painted in the late 1800s by a local artist. Beautifully executed, it is a highly decorative piece. There are some losses to the canvas and evidence on the back that most of these have been disguised with black paint added to the reverse so they cannot easily be seen when the picture is hung.
While in obvious shabby chic condition, the portrait retains substantial period charm and atmosphere, looking good in any room.

This is an attractive vintage cabinet. Probably from the 1950s, it has lovely rustic mouldings to the front. Inside there are two little supports either sides for a shelf, but we have left it untouched.
We love the vintage charm or its small proportions, its beautiful timber colour and pretty original 50s knob and key hole.
It is completely untouched, with its original lock and hinges. The cupboard features a practical shelf inside. We love the original paint and its proportions are very pleasing.

Here is a small but strikingly executed portrait of a man, in oil on canvas.
Wearing a hat, the subject’s features are marvellously captured and the eyes are particularly well done. Probably British, this characterful and atmospheric portrait is unframed and in excellent condition for its age.

Characterful old pine table with drawer to the front, in attractive ‘period’ green paint.
This table has been loved for many decades with signs of age and use obvious throughout, including several dints to the top and wear marks around the handle. Some evidence of old woodworm in a few places underneath but this has been treated and cannot be seen.
A good sized table that would work well as a small breakfast table, a desk for a study or perhaps as a hall table for a large house. A great piece in a strong colour.

A very elegant 1950s French brass and cut glass floor lamp with brass tripod legs.
This is a very beautiful lamp, in excellent condition. It is made of solid brass and has very pretty moulded glass detailing. A striking addition to any style home and a real classic.

This is a beautiful and characterful vintage hessian grain sack with stencilled writing in good overall vintage condition.
The writing reads: “Yemen PD/R2166 Wheat flour Aden Gift of the EEC – Action of the World Food Programme”.
These rustic grain sacks were mostly hand-stitched. Today, they are ideal as a wall decoration, or perfect as cushion fabric. Some imperfections enhancing its highly decorative charm.
These are wonderful vintage pigeonholes painted white. Showing signs of use, there is some chippy and uneven paint.
They are made of two pigeonholes having been joined together at some earlier point, and can be used for display or storage in either portrait or landscape. Ideal for displaying a collection of items, CDs or small books.
